NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Morgan Wallen, the country music sensation, found himself behind bars on Sunday night following accusations of hurling a chair from the rooftop of a Broadway bar.
As detailed in the arrest affidavit, the 30-year-old Wallen was reportedly spotted atop Chief’s Bar around 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, where witnesses observed him grabbing a chair, tossing it over the roof's edge, and seemingly finding amusement in the act. The rooftop of the bar looms six stories above Broadway.
According to the affidavit, two officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department were stationed below on Broadway and noted that the chair landed perilously close, merely three feet from their position. Subsequently, officers engaged with bar personnel, eyewitnesses, and scrutinized security footage, all of which corroborated the purported actions of Wallen, as outlined in the affidavit.
Wallen found himself arrested and processed shortly after 12:30 a.m. He faces three charges of felony reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. After posting a bond of $15,250, Wallen was discharged from Davidson County jail around 3:30 a.m.
In response to Wallen's arrest, his attorney, Worrick Robinson, issued the following statement:
"Sunday evening at 10:53 p.m., Morgan Wallen was apprehended in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is fully cooperating with the authorities."
Chief’s Bar, where the incident occurred, is under the ownership of fellow country music luminary Eric Church and had recently celebrated its grand opening weekend.
